Biographical Information[edit]
Francis "Frank" McManus played three years in the majors, all at catcher. He appeared in 14 games total.
Frank hit an impressive .381 in his first cup of coffee in 1899, but thereafter in 1903 and 1904 he got no hits.
Frank started playing pro ball in 1895 in the New England League. He spent parts of 1899-1900 with Allentown of the Atlantic League. For parts of 1902-1903 and 1907 he was with the Jersey City Skeeters. The 1902 Skeeters were one of history's great teams, posting a record of 92-33.
He was founded murdered in his bed in 1923 in Syracuse, NY.
