He went 23-13 and hit .282 in 1911, tying Clint Rogge for third in the Three-I league in wins and tying Rogge for the most games pitched (48). He had a nearly identical won-loss record (23-14) for the 1912 Decatur Commodores, placing 4th in wins behind Bunny Hearn, Rhoddy Hendrix and Cecil Wetzel. He fell to 9-24 in a repeat engagement with Decatur in 1913, tying for the league lead in defeats. He also pitched in 1914 for the Davenport Blue Sox (15-9, 1.80).
