Biographical Information[edit]
After a career as a sports writer, Frank Cashen was General Manager of the Baltimore Orioles from 1971 to 1975 after serving as president of the club from 1966 to 1971. He was the assistant GM of the Orioles from 1976 to 1978 then was GM of the New York Mets for a decade, from 1980 to 1990. He also served as interim General Manager of the Mets briefly in 1991.
Cashen wrote and published his autobiography in 2014, then died a couple of months later.
