Biographical Information[edit]

Frank Ballina was a fill-in umpire in the National League in 1991 and 1995, during periods when the regular umpires were on strike. He worked one game the first year and five the second.

He had been an umpire in the minor leagues from 1979, when he first worked in the Appalachian League until 1984. He also worked in the South Atlantic League in 1980, the Carolina League in 1981, the Eastern League in 1982 and 1983, and the American Association in 1983 and 1984.
