Franco Ludovisi has been a player and coach in Italy. He began his career with his hometown Bologna club in 1951 and joined the Italian national team in 1959. He also managed Bologna from 1953-1964 and was assistant coach of the Italian national team in 1961.
In 1959, he led the Italian league with a 0.91 ERA while pitching for Bologna. He was 28-15 with a save, a 2.04 ERA and a .188 opponent average from 1960-1966; Italian baseball statistics prior to that point are unavailable.
Ludovisi was voted into the Italian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009 as a coach/manager.
