Biographical Information[edit]
Second baseman Francis Plouf played one season for the Bremerton Bluejackets of the Western International League in 1946. In 54 games, he hit .312.
While attending the University of Puget Sound, Plouf was an all-conference shortstop for three seasons.
On November 22, 1940, Plouf was drafted into the U.S. Army. In 1945 while serving at Fort Lewis, Washington, Plouf played second and short for the post's "Warriors" baseball team that posted a 44-0 won-lost record, including victories over the Pacific Coast League's Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Oaks. Technical Sergeant Plouf was discharged from the Army on October 24, 1945. A month later, Plouf was named as one of three incorporators responsible for forming the Bremerton Bluejackets franchise for entry into the WIL.
