Cropped from 1947 Michigan Wolverines team photograph http://bentley.umich.edu/athdept/football/fbteam/1947fbt.htm Copyright now renewed, per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:John_Gee_from_1937_Michiganensian.png Online searches of the U.S. Copyright Office's Copyright Records web site for "Michiganensian" and "Ensian" revealed no renewal entry for the 1937 Michiganensian. Similar searches of the Stanford University Copyright Renewal Database reveals no copyright renewals for any volume of "Michiganensian" or "Ensian" during the period from 1923-1963. Accordingly, it appears the copyright was not renewed and therefore the work is in the public domain according to either criteria.

Also believed to be in the public domain, due to non-renewal of copyright.
