Biographical Information[edit]

Fernando Figueroa pitched in the minor leagues, Mexico and Taiwan.

Figueroa was signed by the New York Yankees in 1986, and he was 4-6 with a 2.79 ERA with the GCL Yankees. He had a 4-4 record with a 2.77 ERA in GCL in 1987, but his ERA rose to 6.03 in 19 games with the Prince William Yankees. He also pitched for the Fort Lauderdale Yankees, and he allowed 12 runs in 7 1/3 innings. Figueroa then went 1-2 with a 3.59 ERA with Fort Lauderdale in 1988, and he was 1-5 with a 2.40 ERA for the Miami Miracle in 1989. He reached AA class in 1990, and he was 2-10 with a 3.96 ERA.

The Caguas native stayed in the Jacksonville Suns for the next two seasons. He was 6-3 with a 3.53 ERA in 1991 and he had a 4-5 record with a 2.96 ERA in 1992. Figueroa then pitched in Puerto Rican Baseball League. He also pitched 6 games with a 3.38 ERA for the Carolina Mudcats in 1995. The Mercuries Tigers of the CPBL signed him in 1997, and he was 7-7 with a 4.01 ERA. Figueroa then went 0-4 with a 4.34 ERA in 1998, and he was released. He had a 3.18 ERA in 4 games in 1999 with the Saraperos de Saltillo.
