Fair Grounds Park

From BR Bullpen

Measuring 300' down the lines and 350' to center, Fair Grounds Park in Watertown, NY held up to 3,000 fans. Established in 1829 as the oldest country fair in the USA, the grandstand was built in 1851 and baseball came in 1873. By 1936, when it was the home of the Watertown Grays, it still lacked a fence or room to practice. The grandstan burned down in 1947. The stadium was refurbished through the years and was home to the Watertown Athletics (1946-1951), Watertown Pirates (1983-1988) and Watertown Indians.
