Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Evan Sharpley was taken by the Seattle Mariners in the 50th round of the 2009 amateur draft (the signing scout was Brian Williams) and began his professional career that year. In his initial campaign, he batted .333/.429/.614 with 7 home runs and 29 RBI in 37 games for the rookie level AZL Mariners. In 2010, he slumped to a .231 batting average, by 2011 he was in the independent leagues and by 2012 he was out of pro ball.

He also gained some recognition as a quarterback for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish college football team.
