Biographical Information[edit]

Evan Gerking is the former head baseball coach at Pine Ridge High School in Deltona, Florida. He was a relief pitcher for Grinnell College from 1997-2001, where the team set a school record for wins and won their first southern division Midwest Conference Championship.

After college, Gerking continued his playing career in Berlin, Germany where he played for the minor Frohnau-Flamingos as a player-manager in 2004. He finished the season second in the league in strikeouts, ERA, WHIP, and finished first in walks allowed per nine innings. He continued to travel to Berlin in succeeding years, where he worked in camps and played the occasional game for the Flamingos.

Gerking's baseball coaching résumé includes a DAC-10 Tournament Championship in 2003 at Minot State University while serving as co-head coach with Aaron Rushing, who later became the head coach at Carlton College.

He has also been a basketball coach, and was the assistant coach at Grinnell College during a 2001 Midwest Conference Championship. While serving at Minot State in basketball, the team finished 2nd in the DAC-10.
