Biographical Information[edit]

The Florida Marlins signed Esmerling De La Rosa as a free agent from the Dominican Republic in 2009. He played in the Marlins minor league system from 2010-2018, reaching as high as AA. He also spent some off seasons playing in the winter leagues and finished his playing career there.

De La Rosa immediately moved into the coaching ranks as the bullpen coach for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in 2019. He was scheduled to be the Wichita Wind Surge bullpen coach in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. He was then the pitching coach for the DSL Marlins in 2021-2022.
