Biographical Information

Pitcher Erskine Thomason was featured in an NFL Films baseball film in 1974. The film followed him from Spring Training through his late-season Big League call-up with the Philadelphia Phillies. He retired after the 1975 season, but wanted to get back into the game in 1979. The Phillies had no coaching positions available, so he spent the year pitching for the Reading Phillies. He then spent part of 1980 and all of 1981 as pitching coach of the Spartanburg Phillies. Thomason then moved with Dallas Green to the Chicago Cubs and spent 1982-1987 as a Cubs' minor-league pitching instructor.

Thomason later became a Sales Manager for Fairway Outdoor Advertising
