Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Ernie Kershaw played three seasons with the Vancouver Capilanos before serving in the military during World War II. As a 29 year-old in his first pro season, he was 8-10 with a 4.35 ERA in 1939. He then went 8-5 with a 5.20 ERA in 1940 and 4-4 with a 3.80 ERA in 1941. After the war, he returned to the Capilanos for several games in 1946 (1-1). He was 21-20 for his career.

Following his baseball days, Kershaw was a longtime high school math teacher. He died in 2012 at age 102.
