Biographical Information[edit]
After his playing career, Ernie Johnson served as a television broadcaster for the Milwaukee Braves in 1962, a radio broadcaster for the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves from 1965 to 1988, and a television broadcaster for the Atlanta Braves from 1965 to 1998.
Johnson missed the 1943-1945 seasons due to military service.
He is the father of Ernie Johnson, Jr., broadcaster for Turner Sports. He was inducted into the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
