Biographical Information[edit]

Erik Hiljus pitched 12 seasons in the minor leagues and four in the major leagues. He was a starter from 1991 to 1996 with the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals organizations, and then a reliever with the Detroit Tigers organization from 1998-2000. When he joined the Oakland Athletics organization in 2001, he became a starter again.

He went 5-0 with the Athletics in 2001 and appeared in post-season play with them.

He missed 1997 due to an injury.

In 1996 he spent time in Australia pitching for the Melbourne Monarchs.
