Biographical Information

Eric Haase was named the American League Rookie of the Month in July 2021. Having taken over as the Tigers' starting catcher, he batted .265 with 9 homers and 29 RBIs in 23 games as the Tigers finally began to be competitive after years in the doldrums, playing their third straight month of winning ball after starting off 8-19 in April. He had appeared for cups of coffee in each of the three previous seasons, starting in 2018, but had never played in more than 10 games or had more than 17 at-bats in any single season before that one.
