Biographical Information[edit]
Emmett Rogers played 35 games for the 1890 Toledo Maumees. While he only hit .173, the regular catcher, Harry Sage, hit .149. Emmett played over a decade in the minors.
He had an entrepreneurial spirit - in the winter of 1894-95, he flooded the Scranton ballpark and used it as a skating rink. It was said he made money on the venture.

He became a minor league owner following his playing days, owning among perhaps other teams, the Beeville Bees.[2]
