Biographical information[edit]
Pitcher Emil Zak spent four years in the minor leagues. He debuted in 1936 with the Butler Yankees. The next season, he was 16-3 for the Snow Hill Billies, leading the Coastal Plain League in winning percentage. He also went 0-1 that year for the Akron Yankees. In 1938, Zak was 6-2 but with a 6.20 ERA for the Norfolk Tars. Zak concluded his career in 1939 with the Augusta Tigers, where his record was 7-7, 4.83.
