Biographical Information[edit]
First baseman Elvin Paulino played in the Chicago Cubs system from 1987 to 1992. He showed decent power, slugging as many as 24 home runs in a season (1991, for the Charlotte Knights) and finishing his career with 62 home runs in six seasons. He reached Triple A in his final season, 1992, hitting .217/.276/.268 in 58 games at that level. Going into that year, he had been ranked the #8 prospect in the Cubs' system by Baseball America.
He died of a heart attack in 2009.
