Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Elih Villanueva was selected by the Florida Marlins in the 27th round of the 2008 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Carmen Carcone and made his pro debut that summer.
With the Jacksonville Suns in 2010, Villanueva went 14-4 with a 2.26 ERA in 28 starts and was a Southern League All-Star. He reached the majors with the Marlins in 2011.
