Eliécer Álvarez (Cuba)
Eliécer Álvarez was one of the first players from Camagüey on the Cuban national team. In the 1939 Amateur World Series, he was 1-0 with a 2.00 ERA as they won the title; he also went 2 for 4 at the plate. He helped Cuba repeat in the 1940 Amateur World Series, with a 1-0, 1.26 record while going 3 for 4 at the plate. He played briefly as a pro, going 1-0 for Camaguey in the 1946-1947 Cuban National Federation.
