Biographical Information[edit]
Elías Olivos played for the Dominican national team in the 1991 Pan American Games, hitting .452/~.500/.645 with 6 RBI in eight games in the round-robin phase. He was 5th in average, between Luis Ulacia and Jorge Aranzamendi; only Miguel Sosa had a better average for the Dominicans, who nearly won the Bronze, losing in 15 innings to the US.
In the 1992 Olympics, he produced at a .227/.320/.318 clip with one run and two RBI in seven contests. He fielded .968, starting at third and also seeing some time at 2B when Alexis Peña sat.
