Ekaitz Ezpeleta pitched for the Spanish national team in the 1998 Baseball World Cup, allowing no runs in 2 1/3 IP (0 H, 1 BBB, 1 K, 1 WP) as Spain's least-used hurler. The teenager gave up 3 runs, four hits and a walk in 3 2/3 IP in the 1999 European Championship and was on the Spanish roster for the 2001 European Championship but did not pitch as Spain only used six hurlers in their eight games.

Spanish Division Honor stats are unavailable online prior to 2008 (as of May 2015). In 2008, Ezpeleta hit .118/.143/.147 in 13 games for CD Pamplona and did not pitch. He had a 0-4, 11.57 record with 37 hits and 21 walks in 21 IP in 2009 then was 7 for 20 at the plate in 2010 and allowed one run in two innings; it was his final season.
