Edwin Dikeman

Biographical Information[edit]

Edwin Dikeman was a pre-MLB player who helped to found and played for the Monitor Club of Goshen of the National Association of Base Ball Players in the early 1860s. He started off as a pharmacist and owned a drug store in Goshen, NY called "Dikeman's Drug Store." He was also fascinated with horse racing and worked as a harness maker for some time. He chose to combine his interests by playing the Monitors' home games at the local driving park.
