Edilberto Mendoza has played in the minors and for the Colombian national team.
Mendoza spent three years in the Texas Rangers chain. He hit .207/.377/.264 with 22 walks in 32 games for the 2017 DSL Rangers 1 then returned to the club in 2018 (.211/.388/.342, 42 BB in 53 G) and 2019 (.234/.422/.369, 43 BB, 37 R in 44 G). He threw out at least 40% of those who tried to steal each season.
He was with Colombia when they won Silver in the 2022 Bolivarian Games, backing up Jesús Posso at catcher. He pinch-hit for Gerson Jiménez his first at-bat and singled off Peru's Gianpierre Reaño. He finished the event 3-for-7 with a double, walk, two runs and three RBI. [1]
