The brother of Ron Darling, first baseman Eddie Darling played two years in the minors. Selected by the New York Yankees in the second round of the January phase of the 1981 draft, Eddie split 1981 between the Oneonta Yankees (.228/.340/.266 in 25 games) and Greensboro Hornets (.250/.415/.324 in 11). In 1982, he wrapped up his career with the Paintsville Yankees, hitting .155/.351/.254. In 1982, he walked or struck out 49 times in 95 plate appearances.
