Biographical Information[edit]
Ed Taylor was the perfect pitcher during his one day in the majors leagues. In hurling three innings for the 1903 Cardinals on August 8, 1903, he gave up no hits, no walks, no wild pitches, no hit-by-pitch, and no balks. He was complimented on his performance by Sporting Life's issue of August 14, 1903. However, he never again pitched in the big leagues.
Ed was 26 at the time, and while the record is sketchy, he played at least two seasons in the minors.
An apparent suicide, Ed Taylor hurled himself under a Dallas streetcar on the night of January 30th/31st, 1912.
