Biographical Information[edit]

Ed Strichek pitched in the minor leagues from 1954 to 1962.

In his second campaign, he went 12-7 with 12 complete games and a 2.01 ERA in 19 games (17 starts) for the Valdosta Tigers. He wouldn't win 10 games in a season again until his second-to-last year, when he went 11-4 with a 3.91 ERA in 48 games (two starts) for the Greenville Spinners and Asheville Tourists. Overall, he went 68-56 in 373 games.

His son, James Strichek, pitched in the minor leagues from 1981 to 1987. A brother, Don Strichek, played from 1953 to 1960.
