Biographical Information

Ed Keas pitched one year in the majors and several seasons in the minors. In his one major league season, with the Cleveland Blues of the American Association in 1888, he started 6 games and posted a good ERA of 2.29. However, a lot of unearned runs scored against him (15 of the 28 runs he allowed).

He is the brother of minor leaguer George Keas.

According to the Dubuque Sunday Herald of February 15, 1885, an Ed Keas of Dubuque was one of the town's fastest skaters and engaged in an endurance skating contest (which he lost) with one of the nation's fastest skaters.
