Earl Smith was a college coach.

Smith played basketball, baseball and football at ECU. He was head coach of ECU's baseball (1963-1972) and basketball teams (1959-1963; 53-40 record). He was 185-103-2 running ECU's baseball team. He coached Vince Colbert and Tommy Toms. He was also a San Diego Padres scout for a time.
