Earl F. Hunsicker Bicentennial Park
Bicentennial Park is located at Lehigh St. & S. Howard St. in Allentown, PA. It was the home of the Allentown Ambassadors from 1997-2003. It was originally built for amateur baseball and softball in 1976 (the bicentennial year), and featured some of the strangest dimensions ever seen in a professional ballpark. It was only 340' to dead centerfield, but 390' to right-center and 310' down the RF line. A net hung in play high over the walls to protect surrounding houses. For the entire duration of their existence, the Ambassadors tried unsuccessfully to get a new park built.
