Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Dylan DeLucia was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2022 College World Series in which he led the University of Mississippi to its first-ever title. He transfered to UMiss after two years at Northwest Florida State College and went 8-2, 3.68 in his first year there as a junior in 2022. In his best game on June 23rd, he shut out the University of Arkansas, 2-0, to get his school into the finals of the College World Series, where they faced off against the University of Oklahoma. He had also beaten Auburn University in his team's first game of the tournament, and went 3-0, 1.59 overall.
He was drafted in the 5th round of the 2022 amateur draft by the Cleveland Guardians, with the 181st overall pick. He signed with Cleveland for a reported $275,000 bonus [1]. He was felled by a torn ligament in his elbow during spring training in 2023, necessitating Tommy John surgery, and as a result it took him until June 21, 2024 to begin his professional career, on a rehabilitation assignment with the ACL Guardians.
