Duane Monlux has been a college coach.

He played baseball, basketball and football in high school and in college. He was All-North Dakota College Athletic Conference twice in baseball and twice All-American in NAIA in football, leading the country in kickoff returns (33.7 yards per return in 1995). He was the only player in school history to top 1,000 career yards in rushing, passing and receiving. He was the National Indoor Football League Wide Receiver of the Year in 2001; he played pro football for four years. He coached baseball at Dickinson State from 2002-2010, going 232-167-2 and winning three Dakota Athletic Conference titles, setting a school record for wins (34 in 2007) and winning Coach of the Year three times.

Monlux then moved on to the same role at Bellevue University and was 579-213-3 through 2024. He took the team to the 2016 NAIA College World Series, 2019 NAIA College World Series, 2022 NAIA College World Series and 2023 NAIA College World Series. He has won more Coach of the year honors there.
