In addition to their one season in organized baseball, the Drummondville Royals were a fixture in the "outlaw" Provincial League in the 1960s until the league's final season in 1970.
Author George Gmelch played for the team in 1967, 1968 and 1970. He described the team's ballpark as "the worst in the league" by reason of its poor lighting and pock-marked infield.
