Douglas Sorriba
Douglas Sorriba
Douglas Sorriba was the second Cuban Serie Nacional pitcher to throw two no-hitters. Just like Aquino Abreu, both came in short order of each other. Sorriba tossed 4-1 no-hitters for the Granjeros against the Henequeneros on January 9, 1968 and against the Vegueros on January 16. Otherwise, his career was unimpressive. In 30 games (all starts), he was 11-7 with a 3.47 ERA. He allowed a .221 average but walked 113 in 168 2/3 innings. After two seasons in Cuba, he was done. Juan Pérez Pérez later surpassed him and Abreu by throwing three no-hitters.
