Biographical Information

Doug Smith is a college coach.

Smith was a catcher in college at UC Riverside. He was assistant coach at Cal Poly Pomona from 1976-1980. He returned to UC Riverside in 1983 as an assistant to Jack Smitheran, a role he held for two decades. He replaced Smitheran as head coach in September 2004 and had a 272-264 record in 10 years at the helm. He was named Big West Conference Coach of the Year in 2007.
