Biographical Information

After four and a half seasons with the Boston Red Sox, catcher Doug Mirabelli was traded to the San Diego Padres after the 2005 season. However, the BoSox re-acquired him in April 2006, largely due to his ability to catch knuckleballer Tim Wakefield.

Notable Achievements

• Won two World Series with the Boston Red Sox (2004 & 2007; he did not play in the 2007 World Series)
