Biographical Information[edit]

Doug Gallagher served in the United States Air Force reserves, then was an Air Force military policeman until being discharged in 1969. After leaving the service, he earned a degree in law enforcement and security from Tiffin University. He also coached baseball for American Legion teams and operated a popular restaurant in his hometown of Fremont, OH.

He pitched briefly for the Detroit Tigers in 1962, going 0-4, 4.68. He pitched in the minors from 1958 to 1967, missing the 1966 season and recording two no-hitters along the way.
