Biographical Information[edit]

Doug Fleetwood has been a longtime coach. After college, he spent 12 years at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, going 171-63-1 and winning a state title in 1978. He also won 3 state titles as a football coach. During this period, he also spent time as a scout with the Baltimore Orioles.

Fleetwood then became an assistant coach at his alma mater, Salisbury University. After two years in that role, he became head coach in 2001. He led the team to the 2001 Division III College World Series as a rookie coach, the first time the school had advanced to the World Series. He was named his Conference's Coach of the Year each of his first four seasons at the helm. Salisbury also made it to the 2004 Division III College World Series.

In 2008, Salisbury set a school record with 41 wins and finished a win away from another College World Series appearance. He won his 7th Conference Coach of the Year in nine seasons. During 2009, his club was 38-8. Overall, he had gone 308-93-6 in his first 10 seasons. Salisbury also went to the 2011 Division III College World Series. After the 2014 season Fleetwood stepped down to focus his full attention on the Salisbury football team.

He also has been the associate head coach-offense for Salisbury's football team. His club had the best rushing offense in Division III during 2008.
