Biographical Information[edit]
Don Young is best remembered for two misplays as the Chicago Cubs' centerfielder during the 1969 division race on July 8th that caused teammate Ron Santo to criticize him - after his dropped fly ball Santo ripped into him to the point that Young had to leave the room; Ernie Banks is quoted as saying he'd never seen such criticism, and he intimates that it was all downhill after Santo's tirade.
