Don Gilbert was Supervisor of Umpires for Baseball Canada for 12 years, from 1996 through 2008. He created the Baseball Canada Operation Manual. He was named Baseball Canada Umpire of the Year in 1997 and IBAF International Umpire of the Year in 2004, the year he worked the Gold Medal game in the Athens Olympics.
