Biographical Information[edit]
Don Chevrier was a television broadcaster for the Toronto Blue Jays beginning in 1977, the club's first season. He remained with the team for 20 years.
In addition to his career in baseball, he spanned the world of sports for the CBC. Chevrier called multiple Grey Cup Finals for the CBC in the 1970s. From 1992 to 1997, Chevrier pulled double duty with the Blue Jays during the summer and the Ottawa Senators hockey club in the off-season. He was the radio host for the Kentucky Derby for 22 years.
Chevrier is best known for his curling broadcasts. He covered the sport in the Olympics at Turin with long time partner Don Duguid in 2006. Chevrier had called different sports at the Games since Munich in 1972.
