Infielder Domingo Castro debuted in 1998 in the Mexican League, going 2 for 9 with a walk. In 2000, he hit .243/.302/.322 as the starting shortstop for the Monclova Steelers. He remained in that role for years, hitting .204/.281/.262 in 2001, .247/.302/.332 in 2002, .221/.281/.305 in 2003, .281/.348/.359 in 2004, .282/.343/.358 in 2005, .286/.354/.325 in 2006 (16 SB, 6 CS), .282/.328/.327 in 2007 and .269/.292/.317 in 2008. He finally left Monclova in 2009 and improved to .307/.351/.395 for the Reynosa Broncos. With Reynosa in 2010, he hit .317/.362/.412. He played for the Mexican national team that won the Silver Medal at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games.
