Biographical Information[edit]
Doc Ralston played 21 games in left field for the 1910 Washington Senators. He played no position other than left field, and did no pinch-hitting or pinch-running. Most of his 1910 season was spent with the Akron Champs. In all, he had four seasons in the minors.
Doc is listed as being at the University of Pittsburgh between 1904 and 1910, so his time there overlapped with that of Dick Hoblitzell and Art Griggs. Doc had played some minor league ball in 1908, and was 25 when he made his major league debut. He was a couple years older than teammate Walter Johnson.
This site [1] indicates Ralston studied dentistry at Pitt. A 1943 listing by the state of Pennsylvania of registered dentists shows Ralston listed in Pittsburgh.
