Biographical Information[edit]
Doc Oberlander was the second major leaguer out of Syracuse University, where he attended from 1883-1887. He played in the majors in 1888.
Oberlander was one of the early major leaguers remembered with the nickname "Doc". Most of the others played in the era from 1895-1925.
He was also referred to by his given name, "Hartman Oberlander".
In addition to the majors, he played several years in the International Association.
