Outfielder Dmytro Nelipa has played for the Ukrainian national team for over a decade. His involvement with the program dates back to at least the 1997 European Championship. In the 2001 European Championship, he hit .300/.364/.350 for Ukraine.

In the 2003 season, Nelipo played for the Krč Altron in the Czech Extraliga. He batted .400/.469/.600 with 31 runs in 24 games for them. He tied for 4th in the circuit in hits (40), was third in average, third in total bases, tied Jakub Malik for 4th in slugging, was 5th in OBP and fifth in runs.

He hit .368/.571/.474 with 9 walks, 7 runs and 6 RBI in 6 games in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers to earn the Ukraine a spot in the 2010 European Championship. In the qualifier, he was 4th in average, 5th in slugging, 2nd in OBP, 2nd in runs, tied for first in hits, tied for first in RBI, tied for second in total bases with Jan Jablonka and led in walks.
