Diego Polanco pitched for the Guatemalan national team in the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup. The teenager made his lone appearance in a 8-0 loss to Puerto Rico, pitching innings four and five. He allowed two singles, a double, a walk and two runs while striking out none. He is with Guatemala for the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games.
