Biographical Information[edit]
Dick Sakala was a college coach.
A quarterback in football in college, he led Columbia to an Ivy League title. He coached the Englewood School for Boys from 1963-1970. He coached Columbia's baseball team from 1973-1977. He was then Athletic Director at Union College from 1977-2000, including being head baseball coach from 1978-1981. He helped start the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association in 1995.
