Dick Messner
- Throws Right
Dick Messner pitched two years in professional baseball. He went 11-13 for the 1953 Danville Dans with a 3.45 ERA. The next year, Messner was 0-3 with a 10.64 ERA for Danville, had no decisions for the Sioux City Soos and had a 5-6 record and 2.82 ERA for the St. Cloud Rox.
Personal Recollection[edit]
Dick Messner was a right-handed pitcher on the 1954 St. Cloud Rox. He was a little older than most of us mostly 19 year-olds, and was enrolled in divinity school in some college. As I remember him, he had good poise and mechanics as a pitcher, and a good arm. I think he probably did pretty well pitching for St. Cloud that year, and probably continued his career in the NY Giants farm system. I would like to see his career stats, if possible.
